Hi! My name is Brian Gowing. I’m a techie. Been one since I was in college back in the 80′s. Started out in the college radio station then had my own small regional sound company for a couple of years. Decided that doing IT was more profitable and left that part of my life behind for about 10 years. Got back into it in So Cal in the late 90s providing sound for some local bands then became a Christian in 2003. God decided that He wanted me for His churches and I left my IT career behind and committed myself to wholeheartedly providing technical advice for churches. I’ve been in a technical director position consulting for churches since 2003. I’m a husband to the most wonderful wife I could imagine and a father to an awesome kid. I attend Fallen Timbers Community Church (www.ftcchurch.org) where I serve as the technical director as a volunteer. I work at the Great Lakes District Office of the Christian & Missionary Alliance as the Business & Technology Manager. I mainly assist churches in the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination but will help any church with technical advice. The advice is always free and with no strings attached. I love doing what I do!
I’ve helped over 40 churches with their worship issues, whether technical or worship oriented. I believe that to have a transparent worship experience every piece of the worship service has to fit together and run like a well-oiled machine. If you have friction between the worship and tech teams you’ll never have this beautiful dance that transpires. I’ve mediated quite a few churches through the tension and got them to work together well.
